ZenGrab Render
ZenGrab Render is the software module that facilitates the re-rendering of the MPEG2
video collected from the Capture DVR in to MPEG4 video for transfer on to the back
office Notice Processing System.
Residing on the end user supplied server, ZenGrab Render also hosts the workflow
database and accepts the re-rendering/delete instructions from the Review Clients
software. The re-rendering instruction is received after the clip has been reviewed
and it results in the MPEG2 video clip being cropped, converted into MPEG4 format
(to save disc space) and securely transferred to the back office Notice Processing
System’s data store. A delete instruction is received after a reviewed clip is rejected
and it results in the MPEG2 video clip being deleted from the render server.
As the Render server functions as the ‘working copy’ store, video files are only
retained for as long as it takes for them to be reviewed, therefore the server storage
capacity is kept to a minimum.
